The owner of Master Agnes announces in the advertising columns of this journal for the third year in succession that the son of Cassi vellaunus and Fair Agnes will stand this season at White's Line, Carterton, Wairarapa, at the fee of of Ogs. Master Agnes' tabulated pedigree reads as under : His sire, Cassivellaunus (who is now dead), only raced twice in England, and that was a two year old when he won both stakes he started for at Newmarket. In addition to Master Agnes, he has sired in this colony Envious, Jealousy, Billy, Mobs Rose, Puritan and other good racers. Cassivellaunus' sire Caractacus won the Derby at Epsom in 1862, and his dam Campanile, is a daughter of the emperor of stallions, Stockwell. Fair Agnes, the dam of Master Agnes, is a daughter of the imported hay Middleton horse St Aubyn, and is out of Phoebe, the matornal ancestress of so many good horses including Pinfire's dam, Queen of tha South, ParaWhenua's dam, Countess, Maca's dam, Raupo; Wolverine's dam, Tangi, aud Sinking Fund who ran a dead heat with Mata for the Dunedin Cup of 1879. Phcebe was a daughter of the King of Australian sires, Sir Hercules. Fair Agnes in addition to Muster Agnes, has thrown another good hurdle racf r in Magnesia and a fairish sprinter in St Agnes, Rose A'Bonheur and her sons. Marore, Chokebore, and Badsworth, were all above the average on the Turf. As a two year old Master Agnes w»» the Spring Nursery Handicap at the C.J.C. Metropolitan Meetiag and he followed this up by getting home in frost of a field of five in the Two year old Handicap, but was disqualified on the ground of a cross. At the C.J.C. Autumn Meeting he ran third to Water Nymph and Sir Belvidere in the Champagne Stakes. TFRMS—Single Marcs, £5 ss. Groomage Fee, ss. Two or moie Mares as per agreement.
