The Estimates Passed

(United Press Association.) Wellington, Tuesday
After the Telegraph Office closed the village settlements vote of £16,949 was carried, as was also that for roads on goldfields, £29,760. All the other votes, includingthe amounts set down for the construction of new railways, were agreed to without alteration. The vote for the GrahamstownTearoha line was unsuccessfully attacked, and an endeavour was made to have the whole of the money allotted for the WoodvilleEketahuna line spent at the Wellington end, but without avail. Progress was reported when the Public Works Estimates were finished, and the House rose at 5 a.m.
