Alexander and Co., corn merchants, have failed. The gross liabilities are put down at £1,750,000, but the deficiency is eßtimated at only £44,000. England has arranged with the Servian Government for the passage of the Indian mails througn that country. The Bank of Australasia pays n dividend of 14 per cent., and carries forward £14,500.
