Dairy Association-

[Bt Telegraph.] (Oar Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Thursday. The newly formed North Island Dairy Association has decided to shortly appoint a permanent Secretary in Wellington. In the meantime Mr George Fairbrother, of Carterton, acts as Secretary. The ' representative Committee were elected this morning. They are-Messrs G H. Scales (Gisborne), Pierard (Hawera), Oldham- (Patea), Nathan (Palmerston N.), and Geo. Fairbrother (Carterton). MrSayers, the Government expert, is also on thfc directorate as an ex-officio member. Later. The delegates of the Pairy Companies met again this morning and "Seir conference is still continuing. A proposal to form a North Island New Zealand Dairy Association was confirmed, and rules similar to those used by the South Island Association were adopted. Tha objects of the new body are to disseminate information which will lead to an improvement in the manufacture of dairy produce; to secsre the best and cheapest means of transit; and to provide facilities for obtaining favourable markets and good financial returns. Those present ' at the meeting displayed conrtderable energetic pood fueling and their demeanour indicates that matters will not ba allowed to sleep after the conference is over. Progress is evidently intended. Mr. Sayers, Government Expert, was present, and kindly gave much useful information.
