VILLAGE HOMESTEADS.

The town of Pahiatua assumed a busier appearance than usual on Thursday, the cause being the fact that applications for the Mangara* marama Village Bections as well as two forfeited sections in the Pahiatua Village Settlement would be received by the Commissioner of Crown Lands at the Council Chambers during the day. Besides the Chief Commissioner, there were also in attendance to assist in receiving applications Messrs. Wright (Secretary), K. P. Greville, and A. R. McKay.
