Balmaceda's Escape.

Berlin, September 1. The Chilian cruiser President Pinto has left Kiel.

Valparaiso, September 2. It is believed that President Balmaoeda has escaped east. The refusal of the foreign Admirals to surrender the refugees has caused great indignation among the victors. Paris, September 2.

President Balmaceda has wired to his friends in Paris that he is coming to Europe. New York, September 2.

A Herald's special from Chili says that Balmaceda, was at Talcahuano when he learned the final defeat of his army, and immediately disbanded the troops he had with him. Farmers are begging the Courts to issue an injunction to restrain the banks from paying Balmaceda's bonds.

London, September 2. Passengers who arrived from Chili by the Aconcagua at Plymouth were oveijoyed at the defeat of Balmaceda, whom they denounced as a bloodthirsty villain, and re-booked their passages to Chili. New York, September 2. Another report has been received from Chili to the effect that Balmaceda was overtaken by the enemy and shot, but it is not yet confirmed. Valparaiso, September 2. Coquimbo has surrendered to the Congressional party. Fearful scenes of riot and violence have occurred at Concepcion and Coronel. The latter place was sacked by a mob, who indulged in excesses of the worst kind. Women were abused under circumstances of revolti iDg brutality. German warships are now protecting the place. At Talcahuano the troops revolted, and were joined by 4000 miners. The men shot all their officers and sacked the town.

There is a violent feeling against Egan, the American Minister, who is accused of harbouring the refugee officials in the American warships. Order has been restored in Santiago. The German cruiser, with Don Claudio Vicuna, who was to have succeeded President Balmaceda, and many other official refugees, has gone north, and will, it is believed, land them at Callao.

It has been found impossible to bury those killed in Friday's battle, and the bodies will be cremated.

A rumour haß found publicity here that Balmaceda, while fleeing from Santiago, enraged at the slowness of his muleteer, struck him and was shot dead by the man. The rumour, however, has not been confirmed.
