Another Libel Aotion,
Waipawa, Friday.
A writ claiming £IOOO damages, has been issued against the proprietors of the Waipawa Mail newspaper, by Dr. Mirbach, of Waipawa. The writ is not served on the printer and publisher, but is reported to have been served on the proprietors. The publisher has applied to be joined as defendant.

Wellington, Friday. Judgment was given to-day in the application for a rule absolute in the case of G. A. Tapper, a bankrupt of Falmerston North, who was sentenced to six months imprisonment for not keeping books. The Chief Justice said the conviction was bad, inasmuch as the bankrupt jttA-QQt been charged in the prior to the hearing of-ewffonce, and the rule would therefore be absolute, the effect of which ia £■« release of Tapper. *
