The application of the Dalefield Committee for a new chimney was left over until the Inspector had visited the school, as was also the application from Greytown for a grant for gravelling, etc Some time ago the Greytown Sohool Committee recommended that the Board be requested to increase the value of country scholarships from £BO to £6O per annum, and requested that the Board should send a circular to all the Bchool Committees in the distnot. Only thirteen Commiteees replied in favor, and the Board deoided to take no further action, as the majority of country committees were against an increase.
