Taratahi Dairy Company.

Tbe report to be presented at the annual meeting of the Taratahi Dairy Company (Limited) to be held on tbe 31st inst., is to the following effect: — During the season 161,629 gallons of milk have been dealt with, which has been converted into 173,845 pounds of cheese. Of this 132,000 pounds have been consigned to the London markets, and the balance sold in the colony. All the cheese on the Kimu-' taka arrived in a very much damaged condition and the loss on that shipment will probably be a heavy one. Efforts will be made to obtain com- , pensation irom the shipping company, or from the insurance company. The working expenses are kept to the lowest level consistent wuh the proper working of the Factory, but the same cost would work a much larger supply of milk, and the directors strongly recommend all shareholders to endeavor to increase that supply. In pigs the balance sheet shows a profit of £45 16s 4d. In addition to this sum permanent improvements have been made to the piggery to the value of £25. The price paid for milk has been 8d per gallon with an extra id for last months supply. A further call of £1 per share has been made and the sum of £IOO has been set aside to reduce the mortgage on the freehold property. Messrs W. B. Allen and J. Smith retire from the directory, but a;e eligible for re-election. The shareholders will be called upon to
