Collapse of a Strifes

Tha Australian Disputes, (United Press Association.) London, August 15. The strike of 5000 Clyde ironworkers, which involved 12,000 other workmen, has collapsed owing to the Executive refusing assistance. Seamen are demanding from shipowners an improvement in the pro* visioos supplied them, and request that Australian preserved meat should be included in their diet. August 16. Ton thousand workmen who were engaged in supplying ocean colliers in South Wales have struck work for an improvement in hours. The men employed by 80 more firms of carpenters have struck. Sydney, August 16. Stanley, Secretary of the Bourke branch of the Shearers' Union, has been suspended for withholding information which it is nowconsidered would, if it had been made public, have prevented the late shearing troubles.
