The governing body ofthe Imperial Institute have decided to allow the Australian colonies reasonable additional space for the display of grain and other products. The Marquis of Salisbury's costs having been paid, the Court has annulled Mr O'Brien's bankruptcy. Owing to the explosion on board H.M.S. Cordelia, the Admiralty has ordered the withdrawal of mark 1 Sin gens, as well as 6in. Nine persons were injured by a fall of scaffolding at the Travellers' Club, Pall Mall.
Severe storms, accompanied by heavy floods, have been experienced in Lancashire, and in some places the water rose to such an height that the mill fires were put out and operations had to be suspended. The rumoured recognition of Prince Ferdinand's right to the Bulgarian Throne by the Porte is officially denied. The Turkish Government has decided to despatch 700 soldiers to Crete to restore order.
