CORRESPONDENCE.
Sncetalwaa-'WooflvUla RailwuT Line.
[to the editor.] Sir,—ln the issue of the Daily of August 6tb, an account appears of a meeting held at Mangatainoka, the object being to bring before Parliament the necessity of having the railway line commenced at the Woodville end instead of at the Eketahuna end, and setting forth in their petition their reasons. I have waited in hopes that someone would take the matter up and call a public meeting here in Eketahuna. It is almost a certainty that a sum of money will be placed 1 on the Estimates for the continuance of a portion of this line, and it is pretty certain that' the Commissioner favours the Eketahuna end. Yet, if the residents of this district don't take any action in the matter, and don't care whether the railway starts or not, it will be almost a certainty that the request of the Mansjatainoka people will be granted. Hoping that some one will take the matter up and call a public meeting.—l am, etc., Noafuhi. Eketahuna, August 12th.
