DOMESTIC TRAGEDY.
Assault and Sulolde.

(United Press Association) Oawaru, Thursday. A farmer named Hugh Thompson, residing at Georgetown, committed suicide on Tuesday, after making an assault on his wife with a knife, and attempting to set fire to his house. At the inquest a verdict of temporarily insane was returned. The deceased had suffered in health recently, and waß otherwise bothered in mind.
