ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Upper Taueru Boad Board was held on Ist August. Present—The Chairman (Mr 0. E. Cookburn-flood) and Messrs Macßae, Miller and Perry. COBRESPONDENCE. From Sergt. of Police, re wages due to B. Morley; from the Property Tax Department, re subsidy; from Audit Office, with circular to Local Bodies ; from the Treasury, requesting payhalf year on loan of £B3O lis lid, under Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886; from Mr A. G. Wakelin, requesting the services of the roadman to put in repair the track on the Mungerai road, and offering to assist the roadman with the work, or he will do the work himself for £8; from Mr J. Hutherfurd, requesting leave of absence. An application was received from Messrs Lang and Nicholls for the services of the roadman to open up their track to make it passable for trollies. SESOLVED. That the roadman shall attend to Mr application as soon as the work now in hand is completed. That the work for Messrs Lang and Nicholls shall be done some time within the next three months. -That a general rate of 3/Bths of a penny in the pound on all the rateable property of the district be now levied; payable on the first day of OeJber, 1891. Accounts amounting to £3B 18s 8d were passed for payment. The next meeting of the Board will be held on the first Saturday in September.
