MASTERTON.—MONDAY. (Before John Gardiner, Esq., J.P.) FAILING TO SUPPORT. Disher was charged by Sergeant Hannanwith failing to obey an order of the Court to contribute the sum of six shillings per week towards the support of his child. On the application of the police the case was adjourned till next day. Drunk and Obscene. Charles Harvey was charged with being drunk in the public streeton Sunday, and with using obscene language. The accused said he did not remember having used obscene language. Be might have done bo. The Bench: If you had been charged with drunkeness alone I migh: h»ve been inclined to let you off w&fe a caution. But as you have used obscene language in the street on Sunday, whilst people are going to church, I must deal with the case severely. You are sentenced to one month's hard labour in Her Majesty's Gaol, Wellington.
