SALE OF CROWN LANDS.
The Eaivhata Sleek.
A sale of Grown Lands in the Kaiwhata block, East Coast, was held in the old Oonrthouse, Masterton, this (Wednesday) morning, by Mr j. H. Baker, Commissioner ol Lands. About twenty persons were present. The conditions of sale having been read by the Commissioner, the following sections were disposed of :—Ssotion 49, 1108 acres, upset price 2d per aore, upset rental £9 3s 4d, H. Mackay, £ls ; section 50, 960 acres, npset price l£d per acre, npset £6, W. L. Adams £6; 1590 aores, npaet price 2d per upset rental £ll lis Bd, Natives £l6; section 56, 1820 acres, upset price per acre, upset rental £8 ss, W. Bennett £lO.
Sections 48, 52, 53, and 55 were passed in, the upset prices not being realised.
