The long pending divorce case Thomas Quoi, Chinese restaurant .keeper, versus his European wife, Mary Josephine Quoi, on the grounds of adutelry with Bertie Neal, came before his Honor Judge Conolly ia the Supreme Court this morning. Dr Laiahley appeared for the petitioner. Mrs Quoi (respondent), and Bertie Neal (co-respondent) were not present or represented. After hearing the evidence adduced, his Honor said he must grant a decree nisi, but the case was a very unsatisfactory on 9, and if the respondents had appeared the evidence was of such a slight nature that the case would probably have broken down, bis Honor said that it was to the interest of the respondent to be separated from petitioner. An application was made by J)r Laiahley in respeot to the custody of a child, but his Honor said it had better form the Bubject of a separate application hereafter. ▲ Water Famine. Dunedin, July 18. The frost last night was the most severe experienced this season, and continued in the shade the whole day. This evening it is milder. Joseph Preston, a very old colonist, owner of the fine Forest Vale estate, in the Fortrose district, of 12,000 acres, and large properties in Otago, died suddenly on Sunday morning.
