Tenders are invited by Mr. A. A. Elkins for about thirty-six acres of fencing. The special jury in the Coleman Phillips dummyism case was discharged last night. The whole of the jury agreed but one. No mention was made of another trial. Messrs. Lowes & lorns add to their sale for Wednesday next 1 dairy oow. As showing the intricate nature of the case Tajler v. Renall, whioh is now betore the District Court, the particular „___ stream of water over which the action ""* arose has been designated by various witnesses as a channel, race, ditch, millstream, creek, and drain. Tbe presentation of an epergne and cradle to the Hon J,43. Ward by the officers of the six principal telegraph offices of the Colony took place yesterday. Messrs Lowes and lorns beg to remind our readers of their Stock Sale at their yards to-morrow at 1 o'clock, the list for whioh comprises,—4oo ewes in lamb, 60 fat sheep, 50 wethers, 21 head of beef, mixed cattle, dairy oows, etc., etc., and 5 first-class draft horses imported from Dunedin. Mr William Iggulden has been appointed travelling representative the Wairarapa for the Colonial MxAvjSmM/t/fi Life Assurance Society, Limited, members are requested to co operate with him tor the advancement of the Society's interests generally. Mr Iggol> den is well known and popular in this district, and we feel sure that with the energy he will put into his work, good ousiness will be done. A large auction sale is to be held in Masterton on Friday and Saturday next by Mr O. W. Smart, the well-known auctioneer of Wellington. The goods to be sold are simply innumerable, and consist largely of pawnbroker's unredeemed pledges, whioh necessarily must be sold without reserve. The sale will start each day at one o'clock, and Mr Smart is going to secure suitable premises in Queen St, near the Club -^. , Hotel, in whioh to hold it. The flap and bell will denote the whereabouts of the sale, tt is utterly impossible to give details of the commodities, for in number and in quality they will be found almost endless. Amongthem however, there are, we might say, guns, jewellery of all kinds, diamond goods, microaoopes, cameras, violins, comets, banjoes, saddlery, harness, bridles, clothing of every description, fancy dresses, theatrical costumes, and so forth. Mr Smart should have a good sale with there , attractive lines. ——————
