Mauriceville Road Board.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the Mauriceville Eoad Board was held on Saturday, June 27th. Present— Messrs G. Gunderson (chairman), C. Forsberg, J. Bannister, and H. W. Jackson.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and correspondence outwards. Mr W. Gordon-Gumming wrote, informing the Board that the culvert on Central Manga mahoe Road had been replaced.
The Receiver of Lands Revenue wrote, intimating that £146 lis, accrued thirds, had been placed to the credit of the Board.
Letters were read from the Treasury giving certain information re interest, etc., on loans under the Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, and also notifying the Board of an advance of £BOO (part of loan of £I6OO for Dre/er's Rock Road Extension) and that the £2OO loan for Mount Munro Road West- is now available ; from A. J. Rawsou Esq., surveyor, informing the Board that the plan for Haynes' 3oad had been approved by the Chief Surveyor. It was resolved that a surveyor be employed to lay off a line of road through section 43, Mauriceville, and prepare a plan preparatory to the purchase of the land required for this road, The Clerk was directed to write a peremptory letter to the Ranger (Mr S Riogard), respecting bis neglect to pound straying cattle on the roads in the district.
The following tenders wese received for contracts 43 and 44, Ihuraua Koad —M P Britt £457 10s (accepted), M Kelliher £673 10s. Accounts amounting to £4Ol 18s 8d were passed for payment. Rates collected since last meeting, £l4 Us 7d.
