FOOTBALL.
A meeting of the Wairarapa Rugby Union was i>eld ai Carterton on Thursday evening, the whole of the Clubs in the district being represented. The chair was occupied by Mr S. Nicholls.
It was decided to endorse the action of the Otago Rugby Union in classifying P Keogh as a professional. The Secretary was authorised to write to the Mayors of Masterton, Carterton, and Greytown, requesting them to proclaim a half holiday on Thursday, July 2nd, in honor of the Wairarapa-Hawke3' Bay match. The Red Star Club protested against the Te Ore Ore Club playing seniors in the Junior Cup match, but the protest was not sustained.
Mr H. Wilsone was elected to the Match Committee, vice Mr A. D'Aroy, resigned. It was resolved that the Te-Ore OreCarterton Junior Cup match be played at Cartarton as already arranged, and the trial representative match at Masterton on Saturday.
The Masterton members of the Management Committee were empowered to form a reception committee to meet the Hawke's Bay (earn.
Tho following is the trial fifteen which will play against the nex sixteen to-morrow (Saturday):— Lucena, D'Arcy, Baumber, M'Carthy, J. Perry, Hawke, H. Perry, Tyler, Bannister, Gray, Watson, Day, T. Welch, Hudson-, McKenzie. The sixteen will be composed of C. Perry, Wallace, Pelling, E. Udy, T. Thompson, Bairstow, Holm wood, Tait, W. Welch, Hounslow, Amos, 0. Percy, Morris, Ingley, Iggulden, J. Percy, Boulcott.
The Red Star second plays the Whareama Club on the Park Oval on Saturday.
The following is the football team selected to represent Woodville in their cup match with Eketahuna next Saturday :—Full back, Dignan; three quarters, Hawken, Stevenson, Foster; halves, Ingles, Lawrence; forwards, Giles, Bowden, Peebles, Pinfold, Peters, Euddick, Holder, Grager, Brightwell; emergencies, Crawford, Grid lin ton.
The following team will represent the Violets in their mptch against the Pioneers to be played on the school* ground on Saturday : Peterson, Jackson, Williams, Fellingham, 0.
