LAND BOARD
The Wellington Land Board held an ordinary meeting yesterday morning. Those present were—Messrs J. H, Baker, commissioner (in the chair), W. A. Fitzherbert, W. W. McCardie, and A. W. Hogg, and D. H. Macarthur, M .H.R.'s. The following applications for titles were granted— D. Cargriff, Section 24, Block XI., Mangaone; G. Colville, Section 9, Block HI., Mangaone; F. Hill, Section 80, Block XVin, Mangahao; A. J. Tamer, Section 126, Block VII, Mangahao. A report from the on the rubbish reserve, - Sections) Block IV, Mangahao, was presented by the comoiissioner, and it was resolved to call for tenders for a seven years' lease at Is per annnm, under the Public .Reserve Act, 1881. The Board ' approved of the - proposals of the Alfredton Road _ Board with reference' to the spending of accrued "thirds." The Board granted the. application of "Mr J. Trevor for leave to capitalise the unpaid instalments on Section 55, v. Block V, Mangaone. On the report of the Crown Lands Ranger (Mr A. - B. Mackay), it was resolved to take - - further a&ton in the matter of bush- ' felling on the Makakahi River Bank reserve. It was also resolved to call upon Mr McLaren to show cause why his and in the Wellington Special Settlement Block .should not be ' forfeited, inasmuch as he had not effected his improvements. Xht following transfers were approved- * F J Donovan, Section 82. Block XI, Sopuaranga, to S W Donovan; J J 'Donovan, Section 84, Block V, w Kopuaranga, to S W Donovan; T O'Gorman, Section 45, Block VIH, Makuri, to >LP Hansen. On the applicatiofiipf Mr E P Bunny, who 'waited upfn the Board it was decided - to grant leave for the transfer of ; Section 5, Block IV, Miki Miki, from E- Olsen to- MeßSrs Stewart and - Pickering.as Olsen had been compelled - -to leave for Norway. It was resolved ' upon improvements being effected before allowing the transfer of-Sccton 63, Block IX, Mangaone, -.from Mrs M Drawn to Mr Whiteside. ; The Board granted a title to Mr W. ;J W. McCardie, jun., in respect to ; Section part 84, Block VII, subject " to the Niger's certificate. A letter : from Mr.T. P.-Girdwood was read in -connection with a proposed division _ of his "thirds" from Sections 1 and 2, Block HI., Mangahao, in accordance »- with, a resolution - passed by the 'PabiatuajUounty Council; the Board V resolved to asßißt Me Girdwood'e views '-- if possible.
