The Weather. £ Wellington, Captain Edwin states that there are very strong indications of heavy westerly gales with rain occurring between noon of the 25th, .and midnight of the 27th msts, Labour Conference-, Wellington, Tuesday. The Labor Conference has finished discussing the Industrial Conciliation Bill, and the delegates express them. selves very well satisfied, with the provisions of the measure. Only a few minor alterations will be suggested to 'the Government. The Ei>ht Hours' Bills, introduced respectively by W, Hutchison and Geo. Wellington, Tuesday. ' The Island Bay Hotel was on fire in' eight different places. The detectives have furnished their 'report, and an enquiry will be held. The building. is insured in the South British for £I2OO, of whiohthe Company retain £225; the furniture in the National for £SOO, the Company claiming £100; the balance being divided between four other offices. Mr Hansen, the lessee, alio had a policy of £IOO on the stook, and £IOO in the furniture, in the North British.
