FIRE ON THE UPPER PLAIN.

BARN AND OUTHOUSES DESTROYED.

Shortly after midnight last night Mr William Osborne, of the Upper Plain, was awakened from his sleep, to discover that his barn and outhouses were on fire. Prompt efforts were made to extinguish the flames, but without avail, Mr Osborne barely having time to remove the trap from the shed. The contents of the barn consisted of hay, chaff, and maohinery, the whole of which, together with outhouses, were destroyed. The barn was, we understand, insured. Mr Osborne estimates his loss at j£so. The origin of the fire is unknown.
