P. H. Wood reports of the Stock sale held by him at the Taratahi yards on Thursday as follows :—The stock yarded, both in sheep and cattle, were all a good quality and in excess of advertised entries. There was a large attendance of buyers, and bidding was spirited throughout, all lines selling readily under the hammer. Horses, however, were not in demand, and several well bred young stock were passed in. The following is a quotation of prices realised: —Sheep—2 and 4 tooth Roniney Marsh ewes in lamb, a really prime lot of. sheep in the pick of auction, 16s 4d; 2 tooth store wethers, 15s 7d ; lambs, mixed sexes, lis 7d ; wether lambs, lis 9d ; store ewes, empty, 9s 2d. Cattle—Calves, 15s 9d to 22s 6d; culls, 9s; forward bullooks, turnip fed, 92s 6d; tat cows, 80s to 85s; fat heifers, 65s to 74s 6d; dairy cows, 55s to 80s; heifers, springing, 50s to 77s 6d ; store cows, 20s to 40s. Horses— Brown Filly, by Tattler, £ll ; brown colt, £l6; black colt, £l2 ; medium draught mare, £1015s; foal, £Blos.
