MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE

At the Municipal Conference, the Mayor of Blenheim moved) 'thatHtie' Government be asked to insert in the Rating Act that all publio and private schools and teacherstresidences built be exempt from all rates and taxes. The motion was lost on the voices. It was resolved that section 201 of tho Act bo amended to, allow a Coimcil to ivceive money by way of deposit as well as to borrow money (as now allowed) by way of overdraft in anticipation of its ordinary revenue;.
