ESTATE OP G. H. POPE, TENUt
A meeting of creditors in the :estatfi of H; "Pope, schoolmaster, of Tenui, was called for Saturday, but aa no creditors .were present, the debtor was examined by the Assignee. He .stated that the cause of his bankruptcy was through being summoned for bills whioh he had endorsed for some other persons. One or two .- small \ ahiqUnts; were for private debts." The "bills were endorsed for a friend, who showed him letters from solicitors in England stating that certain property was due to him. At the present time he was earning about £l2 a month. He bad been in receipt of this amount since November last, and until then he was receiving £IOO a year. He had paid about. £3 a month to a creditor who held bills endorsed by him. At the time trade debtß were,incurred.his sister,was keeping house for him. 'He was'also bachclqrising for some time,
