TOWN LANDS TRUST.

The Election. The election of two members of the Masterton Town Lands Trust took place yesterday, and resulted in the return of Messrs. S. E. Gapper and A. W. Renall. The excitement on this occasion did noii run very high, although the fight was to some extent a party one. The following are the individual votes secured:— S. E. Gapper 165 A. W..Renall 13S E. At the declaration of the poll Mr. Gapper thanked the electors for the confidence placed in him in returning him at the top of the poll, and stated that he would be in favour oE distributing the Trust moneys among the various schools in the district en a 2»'o rata Bcale. A yote of thanks to the Returning Officer terminated the proceedings.
