The decision of the New South Wales Government not to float a loan at present is viewed in a favorable light in financial circles, and leading financiers are urging the oiher colonies to follow their example.^ It is stated that the Freeman's [journal, which has hitherto supported Mr Parnell's claim to the the leadership, will in future adopt an independent attitude with regard to the dispute.
