CELEBRATION OF THE QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY.
[to the editor.] Sib, —Could not the Football Clubs ba prevailed upon to haye both the Wellington football matches played upon the Park Oval on Monday next, that being certainly the best ground in Masterton ? If this is decided upon, a great many people would be present, who would not pay to see one match alone. In my opinion a good afternoon's sport could be indulged in, if only the petty jealousy of our Clubs were put on one side. lam informed that Pearson's Brass Band would give their services for the day if both games are played on the one ground, but if they foolishly stick to their present intentions the Band will not offend one body of men by playing for another.—l am, etc., Rosticus.
