LAND BOARD.

An adjourned mseting of the Wellington Land Board was held yesterday. Present: —Messrs J. W, A. Marchant (Commissioner), A. W. Hogg, M.H.R., D. H. Macarthur, W. W. MeCardle, and W. A. Fitzherbert.

Titles were granted the following selectorsJ. Brodie, section B,block 11, Kopnavanga ; G. W. Theobalds, sections 85, BG, and 101, IJ unterville; P. Kleins, sections 62, and 63, Hunterville; W. Wilsone, section 44, Hunterville; J. J. lisson, section IG, Levin.

Transfers were approved as under: —Fart of section 83, block 7, Mangaone, from J. A. Ordish to J. Barker, the latter to be informed that the Board has no power to extend the term of lease as desired; section 18, clock 7, Tararua, from G. Smith to J. Smith; section 80, block 6, Mangahao, Irom the Public Trustee in the estate of W. Eaton (deceased) to J. Eaton; section 4, block 14, Apiti, from R. Howe to 11. Tooley ; S9Ction 3, block 14, Apiti, from W. H. Howe to H. Tooley; section 38, block 11, Ongo, from T. Hogg to A. K. Cox; section 11, Levin, from T. Jukes to J. Howell.

The Commissioner reported that J. Baker had applied for section 104, Hunterville Village Settlement, in conjunction with F. A. M'Fadden, although he had already selected a section. The Board resolved to cancel his interest in the land, and register the section in the name of F. A. McFadden only.

The Board resolved to approve the i application of Mr Colis, to ba allowed to include a reserve iu the ring fence around his deferred payment section 55, Hunterville, as he leases it and! does not want to erect a subdivision fence; that T. Moffat, section 89, block 14, Apiti, be informed that lie must sow his land m a proper manner; that the request of -J. Goggin to be allowed to effect improvements required on section 55 and 56, block 10, Mangahao, on 55 only, be approved for the present, provided he fells a chain wide along his neighbour's boundaries if called upon ; that P. L. Cameron's application for time to effect improvements on section 73 : block 14, Hautapu, be not granted and he be called upon to comply with the conditions forthwith; that in regard to the petition of E. W. Gotch and others asking the Board to compel selectors in the Wellington Special Settlement, No 1 Block, to comply with their improvement conditions, plans be prepared showing the defaulting selectors and the contiguous sections; that the excess of acreage held by the selector of section 80, block 11, Puketoi, be approved. Banger Lunduis forwarded a report on an inspection made by him in the Levin Village Settlement and Horowhenija Block, and if. was to allow those selectors who have felled bush time to burn it off and sow the land, and to take action against other defaulters.

With reference to the question of village selectors on deferred payment being allowed some concession in the total amoi it of improvements required to be effected by them, the Commissioner submitted a schedule supplied by the ranger, showing those selectors affected by the proposal. It \yas resolved, after a short discussion, to defer considpratipn of the matter until nest meeting. The Commissioner submitted a schedule of selectors who have not effected their improvements, and it was resolved to take action as recommended by the Commissioner.

After receiving an explanation from Mr Savage as to the reason he parted with his section, it was resolved to allow him to complete the transfer to Mr Odin. With regard to the sale of the Mangarq,marama Village Homestead Settlement, it was unanimously resolved to re-advertise the sale of the new allotments, so as to give time for the survey and opportunity to the settlers to see the new lots before applying.
