Suing a Lunatic. Auckland, May 14. In regard to the case of Webster v Greenway, in which Dr Laishley raised the objecton that defendant could not be served with a summons, as he is in a lunatic asylum,DrGiles, K.M., stated to-day Lis opinion that the service of the summons had been a proper one, and ruled that the case must therefore go on unless the defendant could show cause why it should not. Such cause must, however, be actual substantial facts supported by proper evidence.

Accidents and FatalitiesA Wbole Family Poisoned. Napier, May 14. A family named Stubbs, at Clive, had a narrow escape to-day. Water in which arsenic had been mixed for gardening purposes was used to make the tea. All the family were taken dangerously ill. Fortunately, the quantity of arsenic taken was so large as to cause violent vomiting, and with medical attention all are reChbibtchurch, May 14. This morning the body of Wm. McLennan, farmer, of Halkett, was found on the Halkett road. His neck was broken, and his horse and car t standing by. He drove from Addington market last night, and is supposed to have met with an accident on the road, . A man named William Page, living alone near French farm, Akaroa, was found dead in his whare yesterday.
