BENEVOLENT SOCIETY.
The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Benevolent Institution was held in the Council Chambers this, morning. Present : Messrs. R M. Galloway (Chairman), W. HBeetham, R, D, Dagg, James Stucke v and W. Perry. The minutes of the previous meeting having been read the Treasurer's report and financial position were considered. It was decided to use every eff rt to compel the United District Board to supply funds to meet the outstanding liabilities. Applications for relief were recei •• ved and dealt with, and the regular cuies ordered to be continued till next meeting. A special application from a widow on behalf of her children was considered and finally deferred, to be dealt with at a future meeting, further particulars to be received irom tho police, the trustees in the estate, and the solicitor to the Society. Accounts amounting to £BS 10s 3d were passed for payment when funds permit. The meeting then adju rned.
