A meeting of the Finance Committee of the Mnsterton Borough Council was held in the Chambers last evening, there being present the Mayor and Crs Eton, Gappor, and Heßsey. Acconnts amounting to £222 198 6d were recommended for payment, It was recommended that eight tar casks offered by Mr Parkw be purchased, A meeting of the Works Committee was also held, Cr Perry taking the soat of Cr Gapper. The Overseer reported that the water tables had been cleaned, in Bannister and Masonic streets; Queenstreet had been cleaned up; Makora street and Columba road had been repaired ; the culvert near the Boyal Hotel had been temporarily repaired ; the platform footpaths in Queen Street had been taken up and pipes laid down, the cost of which would be £25 to £3O without the pipes. Uiy recommended—That a new culvert ba~ put across Queen Street near the Royal Hotel, and that a day's repair bd done opposite Henderson's mill, railway 1 road. The question of conducting a new culvert across the road in front of the Royal Hotel was held over, the Overseer in the meantime to prepare estimates of the cost of concrete walls and an arch, or timber. It was decided that Railway road be repaired,
