Auckland, May 9. The Board of Education lias received a letter from Mr FitzGerald, the Controller General, stating tiiat a large number ot dooumenttr have passed through the Board's office not bearing stamps. The Stamp Depart* ment would not on this occasion institute prosecutions, but in future members and officers of the Board would be charged with the value of all stamps wanting, Mr FitzGerald stated also that it is reported that goods have been supplied to the Board from the house of - which the late chairman of the Board, Mr TTpton, is a member, and he further; claimed that the bonds under whioh the secretary to the Board was 86" cured were for less than they should . be.
