MEETING OF CREDITORS.

A meeting of creditors in the estate of John Gunther, bankrupt, was to have been held: yesterday, but only one creditor put in an appearance.. The debtor, examined by the Deputy Official Assignee, stated: I & got behind and could see no way of' paying, Two summonses were issued, I took a contract and lost money on it. After paying the men I had nothing left. Four of us were in partnership in Fahiatua grass seeding. They all received money but left me to pay the debts. I offered five shillings in the £, but received no answers except from Mr Gregory, who accep. ted. I got married about five weeks ago, but had no idea of filing, as no creditors pressed me. I have no offer . to make, as I have no property what* ■ ever. I made the offer to Mr Jones' before I was summoned. . Ispeatihe , money earned at shearing in paying V up small bills in Masierton. 1 made' about JEIB or £ls shearing in two months and paid Graham and -Co, out of the money. I have no property that I know of. I worked a fortnight on Kenall's property in the FortyMile Bush. I promised Mr Jones to let him have money when I could get any, and explained my positiou,
