Mr Connell, the new Crown Lands Ranger, is now here.
Messrs Lowes and loms have secured two forty-acre sections Jin connection with their stock sales at Pahiatua.
Messrs Todswill, Waller and Sedcole are mentioned as likely candidates for the vacant seat on the Town Board. A new hotel near the Makakahi bridge is to be erected for Mr Farrell. Plans and specifications are out.
The death is announced of Mr Henry Thomas, of Woodville, father of Mr H. Thomas, of Pahiatua.
A quadrille assembly has been formed here and will he opened on Tuesday.
The overdraft of the Town Board is now £3l 8s 9d.
Steps are being taken in the direction of fcuming a Fire Brigade. Such an institution would be a boon to the district.
Messrs J. A. Sinclair, J. B. Tait, J. Eaton, H. Croad, A. H. Cooper, R. Shaw, and W. E. Barnett have been elected a School Committee for the Ballauce district.
Some litigation is expected over the sale of a bullock, which was negociated by a young seUler of Ballance, who was not the rightful owner.
