Acsidonts and Fatalities:
Auckland, May 3. When on his way to officiate at the annual installation of officers of the Provincial Grand Lodge, 5.0., yesterday, Sir Frederick Whitaker slipped near the Northern Club and fell on to the pavement, tbo result boing a nasty wound over the left eye. He had the wound dressed when reached the hall, and, notwithstanding the accident, remained and conducted the installation. A gumdigger named .Robert Lang, who lived at Kowai, fourteen miles from Kawakawa, committed suicide on Friday night by cutting his throat. tfasonlo.
