The Stansbury-McLeaa Race

The race between John McLean aud James Stansbury for the championship of the world and £209 aside took place on the Parraiuatta this afternoon. At the start Stansbury caught the water first,and immediately forged ahead. After a mile hud been covered he was leading by three lengths, and although McLean pulled all he knew he could not get on terras with him. Towards the finish Stansbury spurted, and passed the judsje an easy winner. He was quite fresh, and did not appear in the least distressed by his exertions. The time was 22min sec.
