The Chrysanthemum Show which opened in Wellington yesterday was a success both as regards exhibits and attendance. Dr Prins, of Ghristohurch, has received one of Dr Koch's syringes and a supply of lymph. He intends retaining a part for private experiment, and placing the remainder at the disposal of the Hospital authorities. Mr Corrle Johnston, evangelist, delivers an address entitled " Your Biography" in the Theatre Royal on Sunday evenlug. The musical festival to be held in the Drill Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings next is expeoted to be an unprecedented success. Besides choruses of seventy voices, accompanied by an orchestra of twenty instrumentalists, solos will be given by the leading vocal- , ists in the Wellington Provincial district. The fact that such composers as Handel, Mendelsshon, Weber and others are to be represented should be a sufficient guarantee that music pt the highest class will be provided. A meeting of creditor* in the estate of Adam Donald, builder, of Featherston, was held at Featherston yesterday, the Deputy Official Aasiiraee, Mr W. B. Chennells, presiding. The bankrupt, in his examination, stated that he had been forced into filing through the pressure of creditors. The whole of his property had been mortgaged. He had been sued by certain oredftvn. and threatened by others. He had given Mr B. A. Butcher accommodation bills for £lO 10s, £l4 10s,and other amounts, but received no security for the same. Be understood ' Mr Butcher had property at Home, and it was on the strength of this he pave the bills. He had filed his schedule ten years ago,but had obtained his discharge. The Assignee was instructed to realise the assets as soon as convenient, and the meeting then adjourned sine die.
