Wairarapa Rugby TJnioa.

The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Rugby Union was held in the White Hart Hotel, Carterton, on Friday evening. Delegates from the various Clubs in the Wairarapa were present, and the chair was occupied by Mr E. M. D. Whatman. From the statement of receipts and expenditure a debit balance of £lO 14s was shown. A balance sheet in connection with last year's tour of the Wairarapa team was also read, showing that the Union had to contribute £l2 4s towards the expenses. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, W. C. Buchanan, M.H.R. (re-elected); President, G. Beetham, (re-elected) ; Vice-Ptesidents, Dr Johnson, J P Russell, A W Cave ; Secretary, R S Hirschberg; Treasurer, A L Webster; Committee of Management, W J McKenzie, EM D Whatman, W lggulden, S Nicholls, H Duff, Maniheva Maaka; Match Committee, EMD Whatman, A D'Aroy, S Nicholls. The Whareama Club was admitted to the Union.

The various clubs were classified as follows:—Seniors : Red Stars, Te Ore Ore, Masterton, Carterton, and Greytown. Juniors: Whareama, Greytown Fire Brigade, Masterton second, Red Star second, Te Ore Ore second, Carterton second, and Greytown second.

It was resolved to alter the Union colors, and the Secretary was authorised to write for samples. It was decided that the Cup matches commence on the second Saturday in May. The drawing for Clip matches resulted as follows: — SENIOR CUP.

A practice match was held on the Park Oval on (Saturday, when scratch teams were picked from the Masterton, Red Star, and Te Ore Ore clubs. Taking into consideration the fact that the season is barely opened, some very good form was shown.

A match between tbe Violets and Kunpuni juveniles, played at Kuripuni on Saturday, resulted in a win for the former by two points to one.
