FATAL SHOOTING ACCIDENT.

Information was brought to the Masterton police last evening by Mr Anders Berg Anderson, of Maurice* ville, that a boy named Christian Hansen, about sixteen years of age, was accidentally shot whilst pigeon shooting in Elliott's bush yesterday. A lad named Anderson was with him at the time. The unfortunate young fellow, it appears, had placed his gun upon a log, and in taking it up by the barrel caught the hammer in the bark, with the result that the contents were lodged in his side almost in a direct line with the heart. Death was instantaneous. The body was removed to the house of Mr Jens Winter Anderson, Maariceville. Constable May proceeded to that place this morning, and an inquest will be held before Mr Gunder Gundersen J.P.
