The attendance of the public was much larger than usual, fully three hundred persons, including visitors from all parts of the district, sitting down at the tables, which were laden with all those delicacies so common to Methodist gatherings. The tables—five in all—were presided over by the following ladies :—Mesdames T l3ixon, R. G. Williams, R.Hornblow and the Misses Rowse, M. Perry, G. Wrigley, Pearson, Gillespie, Hoar, L. Welch, and Prentice.

Dollow, and W. Rowse being also on the platform, The Rev. J. Having alluded to the scepticism prevailing in this town, and the disregard of the young men for holy things, he urged upon christians to lead such a life as would induce non-churohgoers to emulate their example. * , The Rev. Rowse,in au exceedingly
interesting address, gave a sketch of his recent visit to the Quoen City, introducing incideuts of a most amusing character. He also outlined the work done by the Conference, stating his complete submission to the will of those in power in the mat ing of transfers, and alluding to the impossibility of extending the term for ministerial residence.
