PAHIATUA.
(From Our Own Correspondent). The Tutaekara Native Football Team are early in the field this season, they have already arranged a series of matches and commence on their tour on Friday next, their first match will be at Otaki on Saturday, the 21st inst, afterwards they play Foxton on Tuesday, Palmerston on Wednesday, and Pahiatua on Good Friday. A match with Woodville isalso being arranged. The suspension bridge over the Mangatainoka River will be open for traffic in a few days. A meeting of the Mangatainoka School Committee was held on Saturday evening. Business of a routine nature only was transacted and after the passing of a few • accounts the meeting adjourned. A poll af the ratepayers on the question whether a library should be organised under "the Public Libraries Act'? was taken yesterday and resulted in SS for the p»?9poßfii and 4 against. The nation was'' therefore declared del} carried. It is hoped that something definite wjll now be done towards the formation of this desirable institution.
