Maiden Race, of 25 sovs, second horse 5 soys, 1 mile ; for horses that have never won a Hack Race, entrance 25b, weight for age, 3. Scurry Race, of 10 sovs, J mile ; for all horses that have never faced a starter (saddle races excepted), catch weights ; entrance 10s, post entry. 4. St Patrick's Hadnicap, of 65 sovs, second horso 10 sovs, third horse 5 sovs; I 4 miles; nom 30s, accept 355. 5. Welter Handicap, of 35 sovs, second horse 5 bdvs, 1 mile; nom 20s, accept 15s, G. Flying Handicap, of 40 sovs, second hoi-se 10 sovs, f mile; nom 20s accept 20a ; the winner of St Patrick's Handicap to carry 71bs penalty. 7. Selling Race, of 25 sovs, 7 furlongs; the winner;to be 'sold for 10 sovs, the surplus to bo divided between the Club and the second horse ; weight for age ; entrance 255.
8. Forced Handicap, of 20 sovs, second horse 5 sovs, ] mile; entrance — winners of all races during the day 10s each, non-winners free. NOMINATION, WEIGHTS AND ACCEPTANCES. Nominations for all Handicaps, with the exception of the Forced Handicap, will close with the Secretary at the Club Hotel, on THURSDAY, 6th March, at 9 p.m., or on the arrivall of the late train from .Wellington. Weights declared on SATURDAY, 7th of March, at 9 p.m. Acceptances for all E.andicaps, with the exception of the Forced Handicap, and Entries for the Maiden and Selling Races, close with the Secretary at the Club Hotel on SATURDAY, the 14th day of March, at 9 p.m., or on arrival of train from Wellington, RULES AND~REGULATIONS All races at this Meeting are confined to Hacks only. "Hacks" shall mean any horse that has not startedjfor other than Hack Races during the present Racing Season All Races to be run under the rules of racing. • In case of a protest, the same must be lodged with the Secretary within fifteen minutes aftor the race has been run, with a deposit of £2, such deposit to be forfeited if the protest be found frivolous or vexatious. No scratching of horses allowed, unless through tho Secretary, and thirty minutes before the time, of starting. No entry will be received for any Race except uuder the conditions that all claims, disputes and objoctions arising, shall be decided by the Stewards or whom they may appoint, and their decision upon all points shall be final. All Nominations, Entriea,Acceprances, etc., accompanied by the necessary amount, must bo addressed to the Secretary, Masterton. No entry will be received after the hour named on any pretence whatever. Any Jockey riding, except in colours, will be fined 2 sovs, The amount for second horse. avIH be deducted from the advertised amount of stakes.
Five per cent, will bo deducted from all stakes. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent, only of the stakes. Block XIII Mangaone, and Section 10, Block 1, Kopuaranga. Such special rate Bhall be an annually recurring rate for 26 years, or until Loan is repaid ; and shall be paid in two half yearly instalments on the Ist of January and Ist of July in each year. W. JS intention of tho Board, with the consent of the ratepayers interested, to raise a loan under the Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886, and Amendment, 1889, for the purpose of acquiring land and felling and forming a road through section 43, Mauticeville sub-division, and sections 11, 12, Block I, Kopuaranga. To give access to sections 11, 12, 13, Block I, Kopuaranga. The amount proposed to be borrowed is £2OO. The amount to be set apart each year to pay off the loan is £lO. To meet which a special rate of 7 and a-half pence in the £ will be made on the rateable value of sections 11, 12, 13, 14, Block I, Kopuaranga, together with the thirds accruing from sections within the above area. It in proposed to pay the costs cf raising the loan and first year's interest out of the loan.
