Sydney, March 7. At the Postal Conference the report by heads of the departments on the Postal and Telegraph regulations were carried after amendments. The principal objections were entered by Mr Gray, secretary of the Post and Telegraphs, New Zealand, against the abolition of collect telegrams, charging for addresses, and the limitation of press messages during the day to 500 words. The Adelaide delegates suggested, as a reciprocal arrangement between Australia and Now Zealand over the San Francisco and Suea mails, that if New Zealand would reduce the

present rates to 12s per lb for letters a shilling for books, and sixpence for newspapers by the San Francisco route, she would be allowed to send via Suez, at the same rate. The motion brought forward yesterday by Mr Dufty for an inter» colonial penny post was withdrawn.
