ENGLISHLondon, March 7. Mr Kobert Lindsay Antrobus, junior partner in the well-known banking firm of Coutts and Co, of Strand, W.C, committed suicide today by shooting himseh. Lord Coleridge, Lord Chief Justice of England, regards the report circulated to the effect that Justice Sir James Stephen, of the Queen's Bench, has developed symptoms of insanity, as unfounded. The Judges have met to obtain Mr Justice Stephen'e retirement. The Joint Stock Bankers in London and the provinces are willing to publish a monthly summary of theiv assets and liabilities, and admit that larger reserves are desirable. The committee of bankers will confer with the Chancellor of the Exchequer in the matter. The Statist asserts that the Bank of England will issue LI notes, and appoint country banks issuing ageuts on condition that they lodge consols with the bank, and also that the gold displaced shall be remitted to the bank.
