PROFESSOR ANDERSON.

| The " Wizard of the North" after an absence from Mastertou of nearly ten years, opened in the Theatre Royal last evening for a short season of two nights, A large percentage of the Professor's sleight of hand trick's are entirely new, and all of them are performed with a cleanness apd. deftness which only Joqg practice and naturardexterity oan ensure in this line of business. The Professor, who, on entering was greeted with the applause due to an old friend, at once set to work. He re-animated a human skull, which he made to speak, he evolved flowers, gold flab., various and apparently hundreds of yard's of ribbon, out of nothing. Bird cages with singing birds were made to vanish and appear at will, and he literally coined money by the hatfull. Strange objects, pf pnfUes.s variety and seeniingl/ endless number were evolved from the inside of a gentleman's head covering, and the Btage itself was aotually turned into a blooming flower garden. During the entertainment Mdlle. Blanche sang the "Song that reached my heart" in a manner which held her listeners spellbound, The spirit manifestations were remarkably W6.IJ, managed, as also were the illusions of the vanishing woman, who was first of all stabbed, but who, evidently to the relief of many of the audience, turned up none the worse for her awkward little experience. In Mdlle. Blanche, the entertainer has an admirable assistant, and there* is little. dpqht hut that a large audience iwill greet the Professor to-night which will be the last occasion (at least for a considerable time) that the people of Masterton will have of witnessing the Wizard's wonderful and enchanting entertainment
