Mr Kafske is the man, and he is pitohing his forge on a section he ia acquiring from Mr W. Good.

Four pence per pound is being asked for cocksfoot grass seed by those who are gathering it in the neighborhood of Alfredton, but It is hardly expected that that price will be got. A meeting of the .North Wairarapa Gun Club will be held in the Club Hotel this evening. We hear that Mr Reginald Marsh, of "Te Hoe," Alfredton, his sold his property, and intends making a trip to England in about a month's time. Mr Marsh will be very much missed by many sincere friends.

In a five-bird piceon shooting match hold on the grounds of Messrs Lowes and lorns the other day, Mr R. Meredith killed five birds (the possible), and Mr W. Hirschberg three birds. The sohool is the object to be benefitted, and Mr Charles Weston, the master, is the organiser of the festivity. The Greytwwn Dramatic and Operatic Society held a meeting in the Forester's H-xll last night; 20 members attendod. The chair was taken by Mr Wood. The minutes of the previous meeting were read over and adopted. Mr R. A. Wakelm was then unamiously elected a vice-President, and Mr H. Stratton Izard hon. treasurer. Eight new members were proposed and elected, making in all 59. After some discussion it was decided to play "Our Boys" as well as the opera "lolantho.', It was arranged that a meeting would be held next week to allot the various characters. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting-
