The proceeds will amount to about £52, the concert contributing the large sum of J47 2s 9d, and tho sports about £4 17s 3d; one or two subscription lists are yet to come in.

The Carterton eleven on Saturday next will play a team of Greytown cricketers on the Recreation Eeserve, Greytown. Play will commence at 2 o'clock sharp. The following ia the Groytown team: — I. and E. Judd, lirunton, Baumber, Fisher, Webater, Beard, A. and E. Udy, Jno. HawVo, and Thomas.— .Emergencies—Tale, Scale, St.George, and Fred Hawke. A meeting of the Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade was held on Monday evening, about thirty members being preseat. Captain Maguire was in the chair. The ordinary monthly business having been disposed of, the balance sheet in connection with the late sports and concert was presented to the members and adopted. A vote of thanks was passed amidot enthusiasm to Messrs Duff and Webster, the gentlemen who had so successfully conducted the concert and Maypole dancing, and also to the laaies and gentlemen who had so kindly given their services gratuitously. A resolution was also passed, censuring the Wairorapa Standard for allowing the public to think that the Brigade was led by the two 'Guardian Angels' and that these gentlemen had caused dissension to arise among its members. The acting secretary was instiucted to record the above resolutions in the minute book of tho brigade. The meeting then came to an end.

To morrow we shall sell full dress lengths of the following double width material, viz:—Delaines at 9s lid for Gs lid. Ecarte at 12s 6d for 8s lid, Beigos at lGs Gd for 10s Gd, Knicker Tweeds at 21s for 12s Gd. Striped Cashmeres at 10s Gd for 10s Gd, and Figured Suitings at 21s Gd for 12s 9d, at "Tho Fair," Te Aro House. To morrow we havo resolved t» clear out all our Remnants of Black Silks, Colored Silks, Black Satins, Colored Satins, Black Silk Velvets, Colored Silk Velvets, and all dress Fabrics at half price at "The Fair," Te Aro House, Wellington.
