ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Mauriceville Road Board was held on Saturday, January 31st. PresentMessrs G. Gunderson (chairman), Jackson, Jepsen, Drew, and Forsberg. The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed, correspondence outwards was dealt with.
Communications were received from Clerk of the Masterton Eoad Board, re list of accrued Thirds. From Commissioner of Crown Lands, intimating that proposals for expenditure of thirds had been approved by the Laud Board. From Mr Franklin, tendering his resignation as pound-keeper. From Eketahuna and Alfredton .Road Boards, enclosing cheques, being accrued thirds from Mr Barraud's seel ions. It was decided to put a new culvert in North Mauriceville road. Mr Lars Neilsen waited on the Board relative to West Mauriceville road. He was informed that the Board could do nothiug in the meantime, as no funds were available for this road. Messrs Frazio's and McKenzie's tender for grading etc., Dreyer's rock road extension and Wangaehu road, was accepted, and the Chairman was authorised to call for tenders for the formation of these roads as soon as the plans and specifications were finished. Tenders also to be called for about 45 chains on Dryer's .Rock Road, and 40 chains on Jackson's road. Mr Gunderson to get plans and specifications made for Central MangamahoG road and call for tenders.
It was moved by the Chairman, that notice be given that the Board intends afc a special meeting, to be held on the 28th of February, to make a special late lor the repayment of Mt. Munro road loan.
Cheijues amounting to £9 14s were passed for payment. The rates collected since last meeting were reported to bo £8 ls7d. leaving a balance in Bank of £4Bl 10s 4d.
